Friday Five

I only do these when I like the questions. I thought this might be interesting to my readers as it will bring out some of my quirks. Enjoy.

1. What food do you like that most people hate?

Tofu. I hated it, too, for years. Then I became vegan for some time and was kind of forced to learn to fix it. Once you know what to do with the stuff, it's actually quite good. I also enjoy squash, especially butternut and pumpkin, although I don't eat it often. And my favorite food in the world is mashed potatoes. I don't think anybody hates mashed potatoes, but nobody loves 'em like I do!

2. What food do you hate that most people love?

There are quite a few of these, but the ones that most often surprise people are cookies and cake. Bleck.

I despise store-bought cookies, especially those horrible things with icing they sell at the grocery store bakery. I also hate Oreos, Chips Ahoy and the like. I do sometimes like very freshly baked cookies at cookie stores, especially oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip, but only if they are quite warm and fresh and I'm in the mood.

As for cake, I don't hate all cake, but most. Every year for my birthday I get a birthday pie. I love wedding cake and very fresh chocolate cake if it is extremely rich and has icing that is exactly the way I like it. I can only think of one place from which I'm willing to order cake. Ironically, it's the chocolate cake from Cheescake Factory. Fresh wedding cake I just adore because it's so light and moist.

Finally, I don't really care for peanut butter. I like only Skippy creamy. I can't stand chunky or any other brand but Skippy. It's the smoothest.

3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?

The person who immediately jumps to mind is Nicolas Cage. I really can't stand him, but I don't know if other (crazy!) people find him sexy. He gives me the wiggins. Ew.

I can't stand long hair or facial hair on men, so any guy with that kind of look really turns me off. I find Russell Crowe, for example, quite unattractive. He's got that beard and all.

But, the most bleck-inducing celeb for me would probably be Antonio Banderas, who is just ugly as hell to me. Gross. But it's okay because he is married to a dizzy, funny-looking woman who's a hack.

4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find
attractive?

Well, I like little, clean cut, preppy guys. My "boyfriends" include David Boreanaz, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lance Bass, but I think most people agree with me that they are sexy. Tobey Maguire is pretty much a hottie, too. Again, though, I think he's considered a bit of a sex symbol. Elijah Wood is a real cutie and I think a lot of people don't find him particularly attractive.

I think Bill Clinton is very attractive.

I'm pretty sure there's somebody else I am not thinking of here. If so I'll have to go back and add them, but right now my mind is a vast tundra.

5. What popular trend baffles you?

I hate it when men wear their damn trousers around their knees. And those gigantic shorts and trousers that are currently popular. The students at my school can't get away (socially) with wearing their pants around their waists because it's not considered cool! They get teased.

I think the way they wear their pants looks idiotic and I hope they are mortified to look at pictures of themselves when they get older. Give me a break! There is no word strong enough for me to express how damn stupid they look with their pants hanging with a belt, mind you, around their knees. They literally have to hold them up with one hand! Then I bust them for dress code. Really pisses me off. GRRRR.

LOLz, Erin. :)

Cookies: you should avoid Oreos and most other store-packaged cookies because they're made with hydrogenated oil, which is bad for you.

Cake: I'm not much of a cake-eater myself, though from time to time I'll enjoy a slice of Claim Jumper Mother Lode cake. Do they have CJ out on the east coast?

Off-topic: My cat is meowing, presumably as a hello to your kitties. :)
