Just updating on life
I'm writing from school, which is like totally frowned upon. Oh well. We spent all weekend moving to our new apartment. We're moved out, but definitely not moved in yet. We love the new place! It's just gorgeous. We have a view of a lake and water fountain just outside our windows. At night, they light up the fountain. We've been sleeping with the blinds open. It's so relaxing.
As we've been walking around our complex, which, again, is brand spankin' new (many parts are still under heavy construction), we've noticed the decorations in many of the other apartments. There are some very, very lush apartments there! We're hoping to decorate ours nicely this time. We figure the next time we move (which no doubt will be within a couple of years) it'll be to some far-flung graduate school someplace, so we're going to have to pay a moving company anyway. Might as well go all out, I guess. So we're discussion options and making sketches. It's fun. But will be expensive, so we probably won't be able to afford what we want to do.
Andrew is working mornings as a teacher and 2-10 at a copy center. It's hard becuase we just don't see each other except at 6:30 in the morning and at 10:15 at night. We're always exhausted when we do get time together. For now, at least, we do get weekends. His schedule will change soon and he'll have to work on Sundays, but either way we'll still have at least one day a week to spend together. And in a few weeks it'll be summer and he'll just have his copy job. I'll be working on a local community children's theatre production as assistant director and maybe a little part time office work for a family member. Then in the fall Andrew plans to start teaching full-time. So the schedule conflict is quite manageable partly because it's so temporary.
School is hectic and busy and nuts. The kids are ready for summer. I'm ready for summer. And yet there is a lot I haven't gotten to. This week I'm moving from my regular classroom to a portable for renovation. I'm actually looking forward to it for a few reasons. I guess I'll get into those another time. I just wanted to do a quick update and let you all know I'm around and the new apartment is wonderful.
Cheers
