Buried

I have been so busy lately I can't see straight. Not only do I have 80 new students I'm getting to know (and all the added things to do when a new semester begins), but I'm also still in charge of ordering books for my department, the computer lab that will be opening soon (or will it?!), and a video project for the administration to screen on a loop in the student affairs office while parents wait there for their children. In addition to my day job, I'm taking a graduate level English course (African American Literature) one evening a week to try and get enough credits to teach Dual Enrollment next year. That would mean I'd be teaching some students for the third year in a row. I also go to the college on Monday nights when Andrew teaches his history class there. And now I'm being forced to attend an additional training for my school Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next week or two. It's good training, but forces me to be at school those nights until 6:30. So that means I teach ever day until 3:00, then every day through Thursday I have a class to attend or an obligation. I'm techinically free on the weekends still, but I grade 80 student journals with a week's worth of entries every weekend. Plus I need some time to go grocery shopping, clean the apartment, do laundry, and sleep in. It really is wearing me out. I keep trying to simplify my life, but right now it's insanely busy. I'm glad I'm organized or I'd go insane.

Next entry I must tell you about my students' 30 Things lists and my new classes.

Hey,

Sorry I haven't been in touch as of late! I hope all is going well, despite being seemingly hectic. When are you two going to be up New Haven way?

By the way, did you hear that Mindy got engaged? Not very shocking, is it? It happened over Christmas, and we're only finding out now! Hmph!
