What's going on
I haven't disappeared this summer and I have actually written a few entries, I just didn't feel they should be published. I can honestly say this summer has been the worst of my life. I don't want to explain and don't ask because if you don't already know it's none of your business right now.
Because of the other things going on in my life, I have gotten nothing done for school this summer except attending a week-long training for my AP class and working on the summer reading thing. I intended to do a lot more. I also intended to read a lot and unpack/get rid of stuff. No dice. I don't regret not doing these things. Other things took priority and should have.
This past week we went to England with our students. Although it was difficult personally for various reasons and I was a complete emotional mess, it was a good trip overall. I think the girls, particularly Andrew's student, really enjoyed it. She will do well in Oxford if and when she attends. I know Andrew loved showing her around there. For me the highlight was seeing Avenue Q in London. It's the best live show I've ever seen - amazingly produced and hilarious. We also did the London Eye. I had been told it would freak me out since I'm afraid of heights, but it didn't. I liked it quite a bit.
My life is complicated and confusing and it will only get harder in many ways when school starts. But now I have hope, which is better than a month ago.
