The 7th of May is almost inevitably a beautiful day. The same is true this year, as London enjoys the second sunny, breezy Spring day this year. Lovely weather for a birthday! I love that my birthday is in Spring. And I still get excited about it being my birthday. I'm never shy to talk about it and make sure I get lots of "Happy Birthday"s.

Had a YUM dinner at a London restaurant I've been wanting to try. Mashed potatoes are my FAVORITE food.

I am now working two jobs - the first as a substitute teacher at the school in North London, and the second selling tickets for admission at the Tower of London. Most weeks I work six days - five at school and then all day Sunday (9:30 to 5:30) at the Tower. Sometimes I even pick up an extra Tower shift and work 7 days. I enjoy the Tower job quite a bit, actually. It's an easy gig and the days go quickly, and the pay is pretty good for hourly. This week we had Monday off from school for a bank holiday, so I took advantage of my free entry and Andrew and I visited the Tower. Got to see almost all of it in spite of also sleeping in and going to lunch beforehand.

Loving London still, especially with nice weather. I've gotten a tentative offer for a job at the school in the fall, dependent upon a few things falling into place correctly. It's definitely not set in stone, but a good possibility if I want it. I wish I could make as much selling tickets at the Tower, but I can't, and need to pull my own weight financially in the second most expensive city on the planet.

BTW, could not vote in the London mayoral election due to my status as a dirty immigrant. Boris seems like a nutter.

Best birthday present? My two kitties, who are TEN years old today, will finally arrive in London on Friday. Can't wait to see them!
